NVIDIA unveiled the Alpamayo family of open-source AI models, simulation tools, and datasets designed to advance autonomous vehicle development. The offering includes Alpamayo 1, a chain-of-thought reasoning vision language action (VLA) model with 10 billion parameters, AlpaSim simulation framework, and Physical AI Open Datasets containing 1,700+ hours of driving data. Major mobility companies including Lucid, JLR, and Uber have expressed support for the technology to accelerate level 4 autonomous vehicle deployment.
